I am really excited to start sharing recaps of weddings that I have coordinated and I am even more excited that this is the first one I am sharing! Laura and Adabel are an amazing couple, amazing people and an amazing example of true love! I am a huge supporter of the LGBT community and especially their right to marry whoever they damn well please in whatever manner they damn well please!
Well, Laura and Adabel chose a FABULOUS manner and had a freaking blowout of a party to celebrate their marriage! The venue was one of Anoush’s beautiful ballroom’s in Glendale. They serve deeelish Mediterranean food family style at each table- which got everyone chatting right away. Phenomenal bar, and of course- DANCING. The wedding party and all the guests were there to get down! (There may or may not be a video floating around on YouTube of yours truly wedding planner extrodinaire cutting a rug – after my coordinator duties were over obviously).
Of course, I had to ask Laura and Adabel their “lesson’s learned” from their wedding. (I swear I didn’t ask them to write #1)
1. Make sure you do your homework and find a wedding planner that you trust and understands you. Allison was a God send. She knew just when to get down to business and when to help alleviate our stress with humor. Most importantly get your wedding planner involved early.
2. Eat before your guests arrive. Our guests raved about our food unfortunately we couldn’t relate because we never got a chance to enjoy it ourselves. Once you make your entrance be prepared to get caught up in photo taking, greeting and traditions.
3. The day will be over before you know it. So slow down and take it all in. Things may not always go as planned but this day is about you. Everyone is their to celebrate the both of you no matter what.
Thank you Laura and Adabel for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
