Put your hands up on my hips, when I spritz, you spritz, we spritz! Ok that was weird but this cocktail makes me all buzzy and happy and want to dance and take instagram photos all at once. And maybe, just maybe I am drinking one while writing this.
The Aperol Spritz is hardly a new cocktail invention, Aperol became popular in Italy in the 20’s and 30’s and the Spritz part was added in the 50’s. Aperol is sweet but it’s kind of hard to put your finger on the flavor- they say it’s rhubarb (but like, what the hell does a rhubarb taste like right?)
Ok enough already, it’s bright and fresh! It’s champagne! It’s totally insta-worthy! Jump on the Aperol Spritz wagon already!
Easy recipe:
Lotsa ice
3 parts champagne
2 parts Aperol
1 part soda water
Garnish with an orange
Enjoy on a patio!
